Movie Description:
Screaming through the Nevada desert in a bullet-ridden Crown Vic, wily con artist Teddy Murretto (Frank Grillo) hatches a desperate plan to hide out from lethal hitman Bob Viddick (Gerard Butler): He sucker-punches rookie officer Valerie Young (Alexis Louder) to get himself arrested and locked up in a small-town police station. But jail can't protect Murretto for long. Viddick schemes his own way into detention, biding his time in a nearby cell until he can complete his mission. When the arrival of a competing assassin (Toby Huss) ignites all-out mayhem, mounting threats force Viddick to get creative if he wants to finish the job and escape the explosive situation.

Perhaps It's Because Carnahan Hails From Sacramento

People gutshot and managing to hang on amidst shattered glass and psychopathic hit men. Must be another Joe Carnahan feature. In this case, Gerard Butler is on the run from the mob, so he gets himself arrested in a small town outside Las Vegas, where one of the cops is in cahoots with the mob who want another guy who's on the run from the mob killed. Pretty soon they have everyone dead but Butler, and gutshot honest rookie cop Alexis Louder. Butler talks, Miss Louder doses herself from the first aid kit, and while the bad guys try to figure out how to get at them to finish the job, they try and turn the tables.

As I've remarked before, I am not fond of the Carnahan oeuvre, but he's got a fine cameraman in Juan Miguel Azpiroz, who manages to make each fame quite lovely, if you ignore the carnage, and Miss Louder is striking and gives as good a performance as can be expected under the circumstances. Craziness is provided by Toby Huss as the hit man.

fun forgettable thriller

Teddy Murretto (Frank Grillo) punches rookie cop Valerie Young (Alexis Louder) and gets locked up. Bob Viddick (Gerard Butler) drives into a parked police cruiser and gets locked up. Both men are where they want to be.

This has plenty of gun action and some thrills. It's nothing new. It's fun and forgettable. Actually, the section I like the most is the quiet moments in the barricaded jail cells with our three main characters. This one is never going to be that great. I knew that with Valerie pointing her gun at Bob. She's way too close which is only used to artificially intensify the situation. There's a lot that in this one. It can be fun.

Excellent thriller , have to give extra props for shooting during covid!! Toby Hess STEALS the film!!

1st off it's a lot harder to make an action film during covid but this film shows how to do it. Not sure why gerald butler was in this film as he was not only not needed but he was the weakest of the actors. Toby huss was absolutely brilliant and EXTREMELY funny!! Lauder is a new comer but she has charisma and is also a brilliant actress. This film was well made , has an excellent story have no idea why people were saying it was confusing as it's very SIMPLE to follow and has a great plot and we LOVED the ending. We're hoping there is a sequel as it easily could have 1.
