Ralph is a 26 year-old regional journalist who's been having recurring nightmares in German. To help him understand his troubling dreams, his friend Claudia, a 22 year-old hippie, uses her undeveloped psychic powers to give him a profound past-life regression, which floods his mind with memories of being a Nazi commando on a mission on the South Downs in 1940. When his visions of that past existence begin to take shape in his current reality, Ralph starts to investigate. In the hope of piecing together his previous life, he goes on a camping trip to the locations he saw in his regression. He is accompanied by Claudia and their respective partners, Andrea and Lucas, who are much more interested in each other than reincarnation. What none of them realise is that the past Ralph is trying to find is now stalking them, and plans to exact a terrible revenge on all four campers for crimes committed nearly seventy years ago. Backtrack is an intelligent and exciting psychological horror film that explores the dark side of karma. What sins did we commit in our past lives and will we pay for them in this one?

Jason has a friction with the handicapped owner Malek and the man in a wheelchair offers an ancient board game called Mamba from the Spanish Inquisition period for free to excuse his behavior. Meanwhile, Detective Izar is investigating the death of a man that was skinned alive. When a heavy rain falls during a party on the beach, Jason joins Tomas, Lisa, his new acquaintance Erica Vargas, Pablo, Miguel and Elena to play the game. Erica reads the rules and explains that the winner would have his wish granted while the losers would be cursed to die the way described in the cards. Pablo is the first to lose and borrows Tomas' car to buy some beers. Miguel, Lisa, Elena and Tomas also lose, but the players stop the game when Detective Eric arrives and informs that Pablo has just died. When Miguel, Lisa and Elena also die, Jason researches the Mamba in the Internet and finds that the pieces and board had been made of skin and bones of the witch Mamba Masamba and the cards had been written with her blood and tears. Jason decides to finish the game with Erica to undo the curse.

Extremely Underrated thriller with a touch if horror excellent cast !MUST SEE!!!

Another example of a film that should have been a blockbuster hit or at least well known. Here it is 2022 and I've never heard of it and EXTREMELY glad we watched it. Brilliant film in every aspect including the beautiful cinematography and the location of the film especially the spooky hospital. The cast is fantastic not 1 weak cast member and we loved the story and even the ending. You have to see this IT'S AN ABSOLUTE MUST SEE!!!!

Decent ghost story with few spooky moments n good atmosphere.

I first saw this in 2007 on a dvd which I own.

Revisited it recently.

I liked the movie cos it has plenty of atmosphere, few spooky scenes n a decent twist.

The movie's settings will remind us of The Shining, The Woman in Black, etc.

The performances are good but the end is a bit convenient.

I have enjoyed Jaume Balagueró's Rec series n Sleep Tight.

Not bad but the creepy parts not enough exploited.

The movie is worth a watch but it's not the kind that I will or need to watch again in the future. For that there are better movies in this genre. I thought the mechanical girl, the "scary" part of the movie, wasn't enough present to make it better. That was actually creepy but why did we have to wait so long before witnessing it? A missed opportunity if you ask me. Calista Flockhart, whom seems to have some facial work done, isn't a bad actress but she's not Oscar material either. Overal the movie is entertaining, the plot is okay, the creepy moments were good but sadly not enough exploited.
